Every child in Virginia deserves a strong start and a path to opportunity, no matter their zip code. As federal funding shrinks, the Commonwealth must step up to fill the gap and invest in our children.  Liz will champion fully funded public education, ensuring that teachers and students have the resources they need to succeed.

Housing is a cornerstone of economic stability. Liz supports policies that expand affordable housing options for our workforce and seniors. She believes in working with responsible developers to ensure housing investments meet the real needs of our communities. From city planning to rural development, Liz will fight for smarter allocation of state resources that improve housing availability for the workforce, and assist with aging in place initiatives to keep our communities rooted and resilient.

Access to quality healthcare should not depend on where you live. Liz supports strengthening Medicaid and affordable health insurance options in Virginia to protect rural hospitals, community clinics, and elder care from devastating Federal cuts. Liz is committed to defending reproductive freedom. She will fight to keep Virginia a place where personal health decisions remain between individuals and their doctors, not politicians.

Coastal Virginia knows all too well the realities of hurricanes, flooding, and extreme weather. With growing gaps in federal disaster response, including cuts to FEMA and NOAA, Liz believes Virginia must act proactively. From real-time weather alerts to pre-disaster preparation and post-storm recovery, Liz will ensure our communities are not left behind when it matters most.

Liz grew up in a farming family on the Shore and later worked as farmer advocate in a Farm Service Agency-funded program. She knows firsthand the challenges farmers face and the importance of protecting Virginia’s agricultural future. Liz will support state-level programs that strengthen local food systems. Agriculture is not only one of Virginia’s largest economic sectors,  it is a matter of food security, long-term environmental health, and regional identity.

Liz will fight for the creation and implementation of responsible environmental policies that protect our water, air, and shorelines. She is committed to not accepting campaign donations from entities like Omega and Dominion Power, and will strive to hold these industries accountable for their environmental impacts. Given the ecological significance of our coastal communities, she will support investments in climate resilience, disaster preparedness, and infrastructure that keeps people safe. Liz also backs science-based approaches to managing natural resources so that we can protect the environment while supporting local jobs in fishing, farming, and tourism.

The cost of living is high. We are living in a more expensive time than our parents and grandparents. It is essential to give small businesses the support they need to survive and thrive, and to hold corporations accountable for providing a strong living wage. Liz will work closely with state, county, and city governments to make sure we preserve and grow small businesses in our district. Liz will work with larger employers in the district to make sure we have the infrastructure to support them and meet their needs for growth.
